A little something about me

A cold september day, in a small city in Greenland, in the year of the Lord, 1982, a small boy was born. After a discussion, his parents agreed on naming him Jan after his deceased grandfather also named Jan.”

Thats meHi. My name is Jan Geisler.

I live in a small city called Ilulissat in the BEAUTIFUL country of Greenland. Ilulissat is located north of the polar circle, so I get to see icebergs, lots of snow and stuff like that.

I work as an educated electrician, and I’ve been in the trade for approximately 6 years now. I plan on taking my education to a new level next year. I’m thinking of becoming an installation contractor.

Most of my time (when not working) I use in front of my computer reading wise words and having fun.  I am also experimenting a little with HTML, CSS and similar stuff needed to build your own website.

This page will surely be updated soon. But for now, thats all you get to know about me ;-)

Yours Truly

Jan Geisler

Hello Jan,
I stumbled across your blog while looking at some Greenland stuff. I have had a special fascination with Greenland since I had the opportunity to live and work there for half a summer back in 1988. I was out in the wild (scientific work) and didn’t have the opportunity to visit any city while I was there, so while the natural beauty of Greenland is well known to me, the people and culture is still a mystery. I will enjoy visiting your blog to learn more about everyday life in Greenland as you update your entries.

Hi Jan,

I can’t believe some of the comments that you got. Some people think that the food that they eat from their own cultures are the only righteous one. True, no one wants to see suffering of any kind but there are other animals that are being slaughter for food as well. I think human will always be bias and double standard, myself included.

What’s up, Jan?

I sincerely hope you didn’t let the narrow minded comments and the poorly-constructed rants of wannabe acitivists get you down. Greenland has a rich culture, don’t let some twelve year old on the internet tell you otherwise!

:)

ummm, I hate to say this, but you look like a thirteen yr old with bad acne! And that narwhal picture is totally sick!
